History

Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home has been serving Harrisburg and surrounding area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

The founder of the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home was Charles C. Baker of Halifax, PA. The original name of the funeral home was the Charles C. Baker Funeral Home. Mr. Baker purchased the property at 2100 N. 3rd Street in Harrisburg in the late 1920's. Mr Baker served the Harrisburg community for the next 35 years. In the late 50's, Jesse H. Geigle was hired as general manager of the Charles C. Baker Funeral Home. Upon the death of Mr. Baker, Mr. Geigle purchased the funeral home. The former Charles C. Baker funeral home was renamed the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home.

In 1973 the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc., purchased land and built the current funeral home at 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. After Mr. Geigle's retirement, Charles L. Geigle and Vaughn C. Miller incorporated the business together and conducted business until their retirement in 2007. Following their retirement the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc., was sold to Nathan A. Bitner, owner of the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home and the Ronald C.L. Smith Funeral Home.
